Dear Friend,

Uovo celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2012.

A small achievement for a great project that has helped change the Italian art scene.

Our independent spirit may have not allowed us to win prestigious prizes but we have been able to present, often for first time in Italy, some of the greatest artists in the world and to promote the best young talents.

In 2011 we hosted a few gems like Anna Calvi and Ali by Mathurin Bolze increased our international presence with a special edition of Uovokids in Istanbul, co-productions with Kaaitheater, Kunstenfestivaldesarts, the Barbican and the entrance of one of our productions at the Festival d’Avignon.

And yet all of these achievements have only produced drastic funding cuts from public bodies.

If we have been able to move forward, it is only thanks to your continued support, which for us, especially now, is a much needed breath of fresh air.

The year 2012 will be difficult for everyone, we understand, but we believe that at the same time, Uovo has strategic value for contemporary research in Italy and is a project that should be sustained regardless.
